12 Axes Test – Take the Political Quiz Online

Two modes are available at the start: a 60-question short test and a 288-question long test. Both use the same twelve political dimensions, so the choice determines the length of your questionnaire. 12 Axes builds on the 9axes style of political questionnaire and groups twelve pairs of values into four areas. Governmental questions concern Federal versus Unitary organization, Democratic versus Autocratic government, and Security versus Freedom. Diplomatic dimensions cover Nationalism versus Internationalism, Militarist versus Pacifist views, and Assimilationist versus Multiculturalist approaches. The Economic area compares Collectivize with Privatize, Planned with Laissez-Faire, and Isolationism with Globalism. The Societal area covers Irreligious versus Religious, Progressive versus Traditional, and Acceleration versus Bioconservative views. These categories help you read a mixed result: a person can lean toward one pole on economic questions while taking a different direction on government or social issues. The questionnaire presents percentages for opposing values. Treat those labels as a way to reflect on the statements you answered. This version focuses on axis results; it does not offer the country or leader compatibility matching advertised by some other political quizzes.

How to Use the 12 Axes Test

Controls

Short / Long versionChoose the 60-question or 288-question mode
Response buttonsSelect how strongly you agree or disagree with the statement
Neutral/UnsureChoose a neutral response when you are uncertain
PreviousReturn to the preceding question

Start by choosing a mode on the instruction screen. The short version contains 60 questions; the long version contains 288. Both ask you to respond to political statements using the same agreement scale, so choose the shorter session or the more extensive questionnaire before answering. Read each statement before selecting a response. The seven choices distinguish agreement strength, so Partially Agree can be a better fit than Agree when your view is qualified. Choosing an answer moves directly to the next statement; there is no separate submit button between questions. Use the neutral choice when you cannot reasonably place yourself on either side. Continue at your own pace and reconsider an earlier response when needed. The question counter shows your progress within the version you selected. Answer according to your own views rather than trying to maximize a score: the result summarizes positions on political dimensions, and answers are not marked right or wrong.

12 Axes Test FAQ

How many questions are in the short and long tests?

Choose Short Version for 60 questions or Long Version for 288 questions on the opening instruction screen. The questionnaire counter reflects whichever version you selected.

What does Neutral/Unsure mean?

It is the middle response between agreement and disagreement. Use it when the statement leaves you uncertain or neither side represents your view, rather than forcing a stronger answer.

Can I change an earlier answer?

Yes. The Previous button returns to the preceding question. It is useful when you clicked the wrong agreement strength or want to reconsider the statement before continuing.

What do the result percentages describe?

They summarize your position between opposing values within each political dimension. Read the Governmental, Diplomatic, Economic and Societal areas separately; they cover different questions rather than a single winning score.

Does this version match me with a country or leader?

The politicaltests.github.io version describes paired axis percentages. Country, leader and ideology compatibility matching belongs to a separately hosted implementation and is not presented as a feature here.
